Southwest Baptist University

College Credit Through Correspondence

You have reached the web site and online 2008-2009 catalog of the College Credit through Correspondence Program (CCTC) at Southwest Baptist University. Southwest Baptist University is a Christ-centered, caring academic community, preparing students to be servant leaders in a global society.

CCTC courses are designed for you - the individual who wants to study out-of-class, at your own pace. There are a variety of print and web-based (Blackboard) self-paced courses. Wherever necessary, audiocassettes, maps, computer programs, or videocassettes are also included in the course. You may be required to use a library or to conduct other kinds of research.

Although self-motivation and individual responsibility are key aspects of correspondence study, you will receive guidance and instruction from an instructor. In most cases you will be asked to complete and submit your assignments directly to your instructor. You should submit comments and specific questions with each assignment, as this is the best way to create a dialogue that parallels classroom interaction. Thus, the medium is different, but the results are the same: mastery of the course content. In addition, a correspondence course should help you become better organized and more self-reliant.
