Shelley Kilpatrick, Ph.D.

Education and professional background: Brewer received a B.A. from Southwest Baptist College, an M.A. from Wheaton Graduate School, and a Psy.D. from Forest Institute of Professional Psychology. He has taught at SBU since 1982 and teaches courses in psychology and counseling. Brewer is also a licensed psychologist with a part-time practice at the Family Institute of the Ozarks. Prior to coming to SBU, Brewer worked at the Quad-County Counseling Center and the United States Medical Center for Federal Prisoners, among other experiences. Brewer is a member of the American Psychological Association and Missouri Psychological Association.
Family: Brewer has three children (one deceased) and five grandchildren.
Community involvement: Brewer attends First Baptist Church-Bolivar where he has served in various capacities including Sunday School teacher and usher. He is also a board member for Exodus Ministry, a local post-release profgram for integrating female offenders back into society. He is involved with the American Cancer Society, Compassionate Friends, greif recovery/support, divorce recover, cancer recover support group, and a motorcycle ministry.
