Special Topics Course in September

Intercultural Studies is offering a new special topics course this Fall,
"HIV/AIDS Ministry," taught by Carolyn Klaus, M.D.

Because AIDS and HIV are such a scourge on Africa and vast numbers of people in other parts of the world, students, with hearts for missions, need to know as non-medical person nel how to help the sufferers and how to help prevent the spread of the disease. Dr. Klaus has pioneered an inner city health center in Philadelphia and authored the story of that center in PRESCRIPTION FOR HOPE. She has also traveled abroad several times for similar health missions and is the executive director of Hope In View, An International Development Strategy. The Redford College of SBU is very pleased to offer such a relevant course for students committeed to health issues in the world. The Course will be taught as an intensive, September 11-21. --Dr. Jim Frost.
