- It our presumption(based on market-share numbers) that most dial-up users will be using Microsoft Windows, and most likely Windows 95, 98 or 2000. There will still be a few Window 3.x users, and Mac users as well. But perhaps there will be those who dare to be different, and want to use less common(for dial-up access use) OSes, such as Windows NT/2000, Linux, Be, DR-DOS, Windows CE, GeoWorks, etc.

As time passes from the original date for the writing of this document (6/25/99), details may appear here on how to set these and others up. Until then, take note of details and settings mentioned here for general purposes and other OSes, then try to apply those to the right areas of your OS.
