Jazz Ensemble
The jazz ensemble, directed by Dr. Jeff Waters, rehearses two hours per week. Students perform the standard repertoire as well as contemporary charts written for the big-band instrumentation: saxophones, trumpets, trombones, piano, string bass, guitar, and drums. Improvisation is taught and encouraged, though it is not a requirement for membership. The ensemble performs one or two concerts per semester.
