SBUAlert
All SBU students have the option of enrolling in the SBU Alert program to receive emergency notifications from Safety and Security, Student Life or University Communications. SBU Alert will notify student subscribers via text message and/or email as well as through the SBU website should there be the need for an emergency notification.

To report an emergency, Call 911*. In a non life-threatening event, agencies may be contacted at the following numbers:

When calling 911:
- Stay calm. Speak clearly.
- Identify yourself, the location, and the nature of the emergency.
- Answer all questions in a quick and concise manner. * On some university phones 9 must be dialed first to obtain an outside line.
