Bob McGlasson became the associate provost and vice president of operations for the Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of SBU in November 2014. He previously served as the associate provost for extended learning and technology services, beginning in 2012 after serving as vice president for information and technology services since 2003. In addition, he served as director of instructional technology from 2000-2003 and as director of media services from 1990-2000. McGlasson also maintains the rank of associate professor, having taught in the communications department, teacher education department, and in the graduate education program.
As associate provost and vice president of operations for the Mercy College of SBU, McGlasson coordinates administrative responsbilities at the SBU branch campus and oversees the University's collaboration with Mercy Hospital.
McGlasson graduated from Southwest Missouri State University in 1987 with a B.S. in electronic media. In 1989 he completed a M.A. in communications from Southwest Missouri State University, and in 1995 he completed a M.A. in library and information science from the University of Missouri-Columbia. In 2001 he completed an Ed.D. in instructional technology and distance education from Nova Southeastern University.
McGlasson and his wife, Angel, have two children and are members of Second Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri.
