Qualifications:
- An earned Ph.D. or be ABD in the physics teaching field or a closely related teaching field
- A commitment to teaching in an undergraduate, liberal arts program
- Knowledge of his/her field with a record of scholarship and a willingness to conduct research in an undergraduate setting
- Demonstrates an Evangelical Christian faith compatible with the mission of Southwest Baptist University
Experience:
- Teaching experience with documented excellence

Early Childhood Education Teaching Position
POSITION: Southwest Baptist University invites applications for a nine-month position as Instructor, Assistant Professor, or Associate Professor of Early Childhood Education. The candidate selected will be responsible for teaching 24 hours per academic year of undergraduate courses in Early Childhood Education to students on the Bolivar campus. Candidates must be evangelical Christians who have a commitment to undergraduate, church-related (Southern Baptist) education. Preference will be given to Southern Baptists. Responsibilities will begin with the fall 2008 semester.

Instructor of Business Administration – Economics/Finance
Purpose:
The Economics/Finance faculty member is responsible to teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester and advisee approximately 20 students. The main teaching responsibilities will be to teach mostly economics courses and possibly one to two finance courses. The Economics/Finance position is part of the Business Administration department.

Physical Therapy Faculty
The Department of Physical Therapy at Southwest Baptist University is seeking two individuals to join our dynamic entry-level doctoral curriculum. These positions are anticipated to fill expected vacancies during the academic year 2008-09. The ideal candidates will possess an earned doctorate in a related field and be expected to enhance and contribute to curricular content related to the Neurological or Musculoskeletal practice patterns. They should have previous academic classroom experience or experience instructing Physical Therapy students and possess prior experience in the development, implementation, and successful completion and publication of clinical research. ABPTS specialty certification is preferred.
The responsibilities of the successful candidates will include: leading courses commensurate with experience and academic preparation; writing, presenting and publishing scholarly papers; advising graduate students; and serving on Department, College, University, or Professional committees as appointed.

Assistant Athletic Trainer/Approved Clinical Instructor

Description:
This is a ten-month, approved clinical instructor faculty and assistant athletic trainer position. Southwest Baptist University is an NCAA Division II, MIAA Conference member. The Assistant Athletic Trainer portion is responsible for providing athletic training services to the athletic department under the supervision of the Head Athletic Trainer. The Approved Clinical Instructor portion is responsible for providing educational services to the Department of Athletic Training under the supervision of the Department Chair of Athletic Training.
Education & Experience:
Hold an earned academic master’s degree or higher in a relative discipline or field from a regionally accredited university or college. Demonstrate appropriate work or professional experience and be NATABOC Certified for a minimum of one year. Currently holds or is eligible to hold a Missouri Athletic Training License. Dean – College of Science and Mathematics
Southwest Baptist University invites applications for Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics beginning June 1, 2008. The Dean of the College of Science and Mathematics works under the administrative direction of the Provost and serves on the Deans Council, Academic Council, and the University Planning Advisory Council. The college is composed of the departments of athletic training, biology, chemistry and physics, mathematics, and physical therapy.
In addition to these departments, the dean directs the Darrell R. Strait Center for the Integration of Science and Christian Faith. The dean coordinates, supervises, and evaluates the instructional programs in the college, as well as manages the college budgets. The dean is responsible for working with the various departments to identify and implement appropriate programs for serving the needs of the college, University, and community. The dean supervises the department chairs and works with them in organizing search committees and conducting searches to fill faculty openings. The dean is responsible for the development and implementation of strategic plans and long- and short-range goals and objectives for the college. The dean advises students, communicates with current and prospective students, and teaches 6 hours per semester. The person holds faculty rank and as a faculty member is on tenure track. It is a 12-month position.
