Admissions Assistant
Reports To: Admissions Coordinator

Purpose:
This position is responsible for providing support to the admission and recruiting efforts for the College of Nursing and Health Sciences.
Essential Functions:
- Data entry and processing applications, transcripts and other paperwork required from applicants and students of SBU‑Springfield.
- Enter student prospect information on computer.
- Generate required correspondence to all applicants and students, as directed by Coordinator.
- Prepare applicant files for selection of nursing students.
- Assure completion of all paperwork, by nursing students prior to entrance.
- Works with Coordinator to build a solid recruitment program in order to build the ASN/BSN program.
- Assists Coordinator in scheduling recruitment meetings and travel itineraries.
- Screen applicants for interest and Answer applicant questions via phone, email and face-to-face communications.
- Conducts group informational admissions meetings as necessary.
- Advise applicants and their families on the admissions process.
- Travel to local recruiting events on a limited basis.
- Assist Coordinator with prospective student follow‑up and callbacks.
- Displays tact and courtesy to students, prospective students and their families, faculty and staff
- Sets an example of a Christian lifestyle.
- Maintains office and building security.
- All other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience
Required:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
Good computer and data entry skills
Good oral presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills
Preferred:
Associate’s Degree
Two to Three years’ secretarial (clerical) experience.

Admissions Counselor Salem/Mtn. View
Location: Salem/Mtn. View
Status: Nonexempt
Purpose:
To execute recruitment strategies and plans within an assigned recruiting area for the recruitment of prospective students for the Salem and Mountain View campuses. The assigned area will have designated recruitment expectations and job responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
- Promotes SBU to prospective students, families and church leaders with a rough percentage of time designated as follows: 60% Salem and 40% Mountain View.
- Recruits prospective students through frequent travels to high school, churches, junior colleges and college fair programs.
- Develops relationships with prospective students, parents and church leaders for the purpose of recruiting new students.
- Understands and effectively communicates the basic essentials of all University academic, scholarship, financial assistance, and ministry opportunities.
- Acts as student financial aid advocate. Works with the Center Directors and staff to help coordinate scholarship and financial aid packages.
- Provides marketing insights needed for print and video material.
- Maintains accurate records in budgets, expense reports and visitation summaries.
Initiates phone calls to applicants and prospects. - Communicates effectively with prospective students, families and church leaders.
- Organizes effective follow-up for the recruitment of students.
- Performs all duties and other activities and responsibilities as directed by the Associate Provost.
Education & Experience
Required:
- Bachelors Degree from an accredited institution.
- Evidence of self-motivation, enthusiasm and excitement about SBU and Christian higher education.
- Aptitude for practical use of information systems.

Resident Director
Location: Bolivar Campus
Reports to: Director of Resident Life

Job Summary
The Resident Director promotes a safe, comfortable, and caring environment for students that live in the residence hall and for guests that visit the residence hall. The RD manages the daily operations of the residence hall and works with the Physical Plant office and the Office of Student Life to ensure appropriate physical, social, spiritual, and academic conditions. In addition, this person will coordinate Chapel services, which is a function of the University Missions and Ministries office.
Essential Functions
- Supervises student staff consisting of Resident Assistants (RAs) and work-study staff (office workers).
- Organizes and coordinates Monday and Wednesday Chapel services.
- Handles disciplinary problems within the residence hall.
- Facilitates communication among students, faculty, staff, and administration including meetings and other forms of communication.
- Administers and interprets application of policies as outlined in the Student Handbook
- Maintains positive communications with students.
- Monitors physical conditions of the residence hall.
- Participates in programs sponsored by Residence Life and provide leadership for programs as necessary.
- Manages and maintains budget for residence hall.
- Provides assistance for students needing medical or other special attention, working in cooperation with the University nurse as necessary.
- Refers at risk students to the Counseling Center and University Success Center for academic challenges.
- Oversees check-in and check-out procedures for students (and summer camps optional) each semester.
- Maintains key inventory.
- Maintains forms and complete reports as directed by the Director of Residence Life.
- Participates in training sessions
- Checks rooms for damages, needed repairs, and general condition (including cleanliness) after spring semester, summer camps (as applicable) and before the students arrive for the fall semester.
- Assist with chapel bi-weekly and manning of chapel doors.

General Groundsperson
Location: Bolivar

Reports to: Grounds Supervisor
Purpose:
- To provide a positive grounds environment for campus personnel and visitors.
- To mow, weedeat, edge, etc. the general campus grounds on the main campus.
- Supervise assigned student workers whose main emphasis is general grounds.
- Assist Grounds Supervisor with snow removal from sidewalks, parking lots and drives on the main campus.
- Assist Grounds Supervisor with moving of equipment, graduation setup & tear down, etc. when it does not interfere with general grounds duties.
- Communications with persons of various backgrounds professionally and in a courteous manner.
- Assist other physical plant disciplines when directed by the Director of Physical Plant, Assistant Director of Physical Plant and/or Grounds Supervisor.
- Attend departmental and/or university meetings (i.e., in-service educational classes, on-the-job- training, safety, staff/faculty forums, etc.).
- Do general preventive maintenance on assigned grounds equipment.

Patron Services Assistant (Part-Time)

Job Summary
The Patron Services Assistant acts as an assistant to the Patron Services Technician, providing assistance in daily tasks of efficiently managing the Circulation/Reserves desk and Interlibrary Loan department of the library. The Patron Services Assistant assists in the circulation of library materials, maintains patron and circulation records, maintains the library stack areas, assists in providing building security for patrons and library materials, and performs the necessary duties in the processing of Interlibrary Loan requests, and the circulation of ILL requests through the MOBIUS Library System.
Essential Functions
- Checks-in and checks-out circulating library materials (except media) including regular materials, reserve materials and keys to study room.
- Takes money for fines and other library services, writes receipts and balances the money drawer.
- Deals with students, instructors and the general public as patrons.
- Collect in-house materials and enter statistics in the computer
- Assists library patrons, students and instructors.
- Collects in-house materials and enters statistics in the computer.
- Checks overdue shelf list, prepares and mails overdue notices.
- Assists with stack maintenance including shelving, shelf reading-projects, shifting books and identifying materials that need repair.
- Assists with security, checking patron when the alarm goes off, checking and securing the library at closing.
- Keeps logs for patron count, alarm count, study room usage, faculty and circulation desk copy counts.
- Opens the library.
Education:
Required: High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
Preferred: Some college education.
Experience:
Required: Previous work experience, responsible and self-motivated work habits, basic computer skills, good command of written and spoken English, ability to be discreet about confidential matters, ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public and maintain good working relations with other library personnel.
Preferred:
Some office or clerical experience, familiarity with filing systems, and some supervisory experience.

Head Coach Women's Basketball

The Head Coach of Women’s Basketball is responsible for managing the University’s women’s basketball program and preparing SBU student-athletes to be capable of competing at the NCAA Division II level.
Essential Functions:
- Manages the department and program including the development and maintenance of department policies and procedures.
- Recruits student-athletes.
- Coaches, prepares and teaches student athletes to compete at NCAA Division II level of play.
- Monitors academic progress of student-athletes.

Director of Annual Fund

Purpose: The Director of Annual Fund develops and maintains the Annual Fund program, plans and directs all phone solicitation activities, and develops and implements all fundraising strategies related to all community scholarship activities.
Essential Functions:
- Coordinates and directs all call-center initiatives
- Develops and manages budget as relates to call-center and related donor initiatives

Technical Director of Pike Auditorium

Job Summary
This position is responsible for managing and overseeing the Pike Auditorium operation, facilities and equipment.
Essential Functions
- Supervises events that occur in Pike Auditorium.
- Selects, trains, evaluates and supervises employees of Pike Auditorium.
- Serves as safety officer for Pike Auditorium and ensures compliance with applicable OSHA requirements and other state and federal regulations. This includes developing comprehensive safety plan and related employee training.
- Serves as risk management officer regarding University liability for Auditorium and makes safety and usage recommendations to limit University liability.
- Establishes policies regarding the use, pricing and operating practices of the Auditorium.
- Manages Auditorium budget and purchasing requests.
- Resolves grievances and issues related to the scheduling, usage and policies of the Auditorium.
- Coordinates and supervises all sound, lighting, and stage design needs for internal and external groups, conferences, graduations and other requested activities.
- Schedules activities and events in Pike Auditorium.
- Negotiates with outside and campus groups regarding equipment and event specifications and needs.
- Facilitates load-in, technical requests, and load-out.
- Determines and orders equipment in the Auditorium and ensures the upkeep of the facility and facility equipment.
- Oversees general theater equipment in the Jane A. Meyer Recital Hall.
- Generates billing statements and coordinates payments for use of facility.

Purpose:
The Director of Career Services and External Studies assists students seeking career information and promotes External Studies opportunities, directs the Dual Credit program and coordinates the international student. This is a 12 month faculty position, non-tenured track.
Essential Duties:
