2002 Parkway Distinguished Teacher
Wesley Gott
The Parkway Distinguished Professor program is sponsored by the Parkway Baptist Church in Saint Louis. Southwest Baptist University was invited to select an outstanding faculty member to be considered for this honor. The faculty nominee is one who has made a substantial contribution to Christian education and who has proven to be an outstanding teacher. In 2002, Professor Wesley Gott was selected as the Parkway Distinguished Professor.

Gott has been employed by SBU since 1975. He is a member of Phi Mu Alpha, the Missouri Art Education Association and the National Art Education Association.
"Wesley is a talented, creative artist and academician, and his students realize and respect his accomplishments. His design for the new art facility, which opened in Fall 2001, has given a tremendous boost to student learning," said Dr. Gordon Dutile, provost.
Gott and his wife, Alice, live in Bolivar and have two grown children, Andy and Deidre.
