A Message from Dr. Schriver

Dear Visitor,

Welcome to the SBU Behavioral Sciences web page. I trust you will find many things that will interest you about our department. It is my hope that our department will meet your educational needs as you look towards a career in psychology, counseling, sociology, social work, human services, or criminal justice.

A number of our graduates have entered into the mental health field upon graduation. Some have moved on to master's degrees and doctorate degrees. Some of our alumni are counselors, church staff, social workers, psychologists, teachers, and college professors. Some have gone on to own and run their own businesses. Others have gone on to law school, physical therapy, and other professional training programs.

So what am I saying? I think our programs prepare each and every student for great things ahead, whatever those things might be. We are only just beginning a tradition of producing top-notch students for the world at large.
