From clear waterfalls cascading past thick green ferns to pristine water fountains splashing in San José’s cultural plaza, Costa Rica offers intense natural beauty, rugged adventure, and a look at Central America’s most cosmopolitan city. Watch the orange lava flow from Arenal Volcano. See the emerald and scarlet quetzal bird poking out from a tree trunk in the vine-draped Monteverde Cloud Forest.
