Education and professional background: Minatra received a B.S. from Arizona State University, an M.A. from the University of Denver, an M.B.A. from Southwest Baptist University and an Ed.D. from the University of North Texas. Prior to coming to SBU, Minatra was in the United States Air Force, worked as a technical writer and instructor, and was a technology faculty member and administrator at a community college. Minatra began teaching at SBU in 2004.

Family: Minatra has been married for 37 years. They have two grown daughters, three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Community involvement: Minatra volunteers as a teacher for Victory Missions in Springfield, Mo.

Why did you choose to teach at SBU? "A friend encouraged me to pursue this opportunity."

What sets SBU apart from other universities? "Our mission statement."

What advice do you have for prospective students? “Become a student of the Bible, know what you believe and why, trust in the Lord and keep moving forward.”

What is your favorite thing to do in Bolivar/Southwest Missouri? "Road trips with my wife."
