Educational background: Schmitt earned a Registered Nurse Diploma from St. John’s School of Nursing in 1995, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Missouri State University in 1996, and later a Master of Science in Nursing/FNP from Missouri State University in 2001.
She is currently a PhD student at UMKC school of nursing.
Why do you enjoy teaching? " Teaching is a joy because it is always rewarding to see people understand a new concept for the first time. Teaching also challenges me to stay abreast of the latest research and clinical findings."
Areas of ministry: Schmitt works with the Show Me Health Women providing free breast cancer screenings, is president of Sigma Theta Tau Theta Lambda Chapter, and volunteers at her children's school.
