The Athletic Training Education Program at Southwest Baptist University is a Christ-centered academic unit providing quality didactic and relevant clinical experiences preparing entry-level athletic training students to be skilled, dedicated, caring, and ethical allied health professionals.

The baccalaureate degree in Athletic Training requires a minimum of 130 semester hours of credit to be earned by completion of the University general education and graduation requirements, the Athletic Training major requirements, required support courses, and required electives.
To be certified by the Board of Certification (BOC), a student must successfully complete all required graduation elements from a Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE) approved Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP). The program at SBU is currently accredited by CAATE. Questions or concerns regarding the accreditation status of any athletic training education program should be directed to:
