Why I expect to enjoy teaching at SBU? I like an atmosphere where I can get to know the students in the classroom and laboratory. The small class sizes and the tight knit departments make for a fun job and a great educational setting.
Faith Dedications: Since I begin my teaching here in the fall of 2011, I can share something about where I'm coming from. I came from Kansas where I was attending a Mennonite USA church. We were not "off the grid" Mennonites but rather modern ordinary folk that place an emphasis on Christ as the center of our faith and pacifism and stewardship as keys to living our lives. I was on the Vision council and I orchestrated the Recycling task force at our former church.
What do I do in my leisure time? I enjoy sporting events and playing sports (soccer, golf, basketball), spending time with my three children riding bikes and reading, and I love home improvement projects.
