Why do you like teaching at SBU-Mountain View? "I consider SBU at Mountain View to be the mission field where God has called me to be. It is indeed a privilege teaching at the Mountain View Center. The educational environment is inviting and caring and I love interacting with the nontraditional students and being able to share my teaching and learning experiences with them. Helping to prepare students to be effective future teachers is an honor."
Educational and Professional Background: Russback earned a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from SBU; a Master of Science in Elementary Education (Early Childhood Emphasis) from SMSU in Springfield, Missouri; a Specialist in Community College Teaching (SCCT) with an emphasis in Community College Administration from Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Arkansas. Sarah Russback has recently finished the course work in the doctoral program at Arkansas State University and is currently working on her dissertation.
Russback has a lifetime certificate in elementary education (1-6), a lifetime certificate in vocal music (K-9), and is also certified in early childhood education (Pre-K - 3). Before coming to SBU, she taught elementary music for seven years, kindergarten for four years, and first grade for three years.
Faith Dedications: Russback is a member of the Many Springs Baptist Church in Alton, Missouri, where she serves as a Sunday School Teacher, pianist, and music director. She also teaches classes in Vacation Bible School and occasionally helps lead the music at the associational camp during the summer.
Family: Sarah is married to David Russback and they live in Alton, Missouri, with their three daughters Katherine, Kristina, and Kari. Their oldest daughter, Katherine, is a student at SBU in Bolivar.
