Courses taught:  SBU Concert Choir, Applied Voice, Sightsinging and Eartraining, Basic Conducting, and Secondary Choral Repertoire.

Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU?  “Being a graduate of SBU, I find it refreshing to be back in a caring environment, teaching and training our world’s future leaders.”

Educational Background:  Dr. Campbell earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Music with a concentration in Music Business from SBU in 1999.  He finished his Master of Church Music degree with a concentration in Choral Conducting from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 2002, and has completed a Doctor of Musical Arts degree with a concentration in Choral Conducting from Southwestern in 2007.

Professional Activities: Dr. Campbell has performed as tenor soloist for performances of several Bach Cantatas, Dubois’ Seven Last Words of Christ, Mozart’s Requiem, and numerous performances of Handel’s Messiah.  He continues as an active soloist and has toured professionally throughout the United States, England, Australia, Germany, and Austria.  In addition to his responsibilities at SBU, Campbell is the conductor of the Bolivar Community Chorus.  He is a member of the Missouri Music Educators Association (MMEA) and the National Association for Music Education (MENC).
