Bolivar homeschool team wins SBU high school history bowl

For the first time in Southwest Baptist University History Bowl history, two homeschool teams competed, with one of the teams taking home the top prize in its division in the seventh annual event held Feb. 27 on the Bolivar campus.


SBU awards honorary doctorates to Bryant, Clemmons

John A. Bryant '61 of Bolivar, and Charles E. Clemmons, Jr. '59 of Seabrook, Texas, received Honorary Doctor degrees from Southwest Baptist University during the annual Founders' Day chapel service held Monday, March 6, in Pike Auditorium on the Bolivar campus.


Wehmeyer to be featured artist in SBU faculty recital

The Southwest Baptist University Department of Music will present Dr. Terri Wehmeyer on euphonium, in a faculty recital at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 16, in the Jane A. Meyer Recital Hall on the Bolivar campus.


SBU's Clark is 2017 MMS Blue Chip award recipient

Southwest Baptist University's Wayne Clark, assistant professor of accounting, received the MMS Blue Chip award, presented at "The Circle of Impacting Ministry" workshop on March 2, on the Bolivar campus.


Bolivar Public Schools Art Show to be held March 13-16 at SBU

Southwest Baptist University's art department will host the Bolivar Public Schools Art Show from March 13-16 at the Driskill Art Gallery on the Bolivar campus.


SBU art students awarded scholarships

Southwest Baptist University art students were awarded scholarships for the 2017-18 academic year based on works they produced for their recent scholarship show held in the Driskill Art Gallery on the Bolivar campus.


Public comment period open for ASN program site visit

Mercy College of Nursing and Health Sciences of Southwest Baptist University is seeking comments from the public about the focused site visit of the ASN program at the Springfield campus. The Missouri State Board of Nursing will conduct a site visit April 27, 2017.


Ofori-Yeboah, Clarno crowned Mr. and Miss Southwest

Sylvia Ofori-Yeboah, a social work major from Bolivar, and Dustin J. Clarno, an exercise science major from Clarkston, Mich., won the titles of Mr. and Miss Southwest at the annual pageant on Friday, March 3, at Southwest Baptist University.
