My parents live in Wichita, Kansas, but I’ve also been “adopted” into many wonderful Bolivar families over the past few years.

traveling, playing the piano, kayaking, cooking

Why did you choose to work for SBU? I loved being a student at SBU and have continued to reap the benefits of the education I received and the relationships I built here.  I chose to work for SBU because I was excited to help other students have that same opportunity.

Favorite thing to do in Bolivar: hang with the teenagers I’ve gotten to know through Bolivar K-Life—watching SBU basketball games, eating giant pancakes at Brenda’s, and having movie nights

Favorite college memory: There are so many!  Some favorites are cheering for intramural football games, playing with kids at an orphanage in Guatemala, giving a senior piano recital, and many spontaneous dorm adventures.

Tips for success in first year at SBU:  Challenge yourself to build some relationships and get involved in some things that are outside of your comfort zone.  College is your golden opportunity to figure out what kind of a person you are going to be and what direction your life is going to go…That’s a journey that’s worth a few risks!

What SBU means to me: SBU is the place where I grew to have a much deeper relationship with the Lord, He sharpened my vision for the direction of my life, and I was equipped to carry out that vision.

Favorite professional sports team: St. Louis Cardinals

What's on my iPod/What I’m listening to: A little of everything and a lot of country! My favorites are the Eli Young Band and Dierks Bentley.

Favorite book/book currently reading: All-time favorite, Pride and Prejudice; Currently reading Bittersweet by Shauna Niequist
