Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU? "Paul encouraged young Timothy to entrust the truths he had learned to reliable Christians who, in turn, would pass them on to future generations (2 Timothy 2:2). I have the privilege of fulfilling that Scripture in my career."
Educational and Professional Background: Bennett earned an Associate of Arts at Southwest Baptist College in 1958, a Bachelor of Arts at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1963, a Master of Divinity at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1967, and a Doctorate in American Studies from The University of New Mexico in 2004.
Before coming to SBU in 2001 as an Associate Professor, Bennett's professional experience included campus ministry, Director of Evangelism for the Missouri Baptist Convention from 1992 to 2000, a Conference Speaker/Evangelist from 1985-1991, a pastor at First Southern Baptist Church in Durango, Colorado from 1983 to 1985 and a National Evangelism Consultant for Home Mission Board in Atlanta, Georgia, from 1977 to 1981.
Faith Dedications: Bennett was the Co-Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Dadeville, Missouri from 2003 to 2004. He is currently an Evangelist at various churches.
Also Serving as Adjunct instructor in Art.
