Current Research Projects: Dr. Reeves has three publications currently in the bookstores.  A Genuine Faith: How to Follow Jesus Today (Baker Books, 2005), the collaboratively written Rediscovering Paul: An Introduction to his World, Letters and Theology (InterVarsity Press, 2007), and his recent book,  Spirituality According to Paul:  Imitating the Apostle of Christ (InterVarsity Press, 2011) The SBU Bookstore will be happy to assist you with any enquiries you may have.

He is currently working on a book for InterVarsity Press, once again teaming up with the authors of Rediscovering Paul. The book entitled, Rediscovering Jesus, should be published by the end of the year 2014. Reeves is also writing a commentary on Matthew's Gospel for The Story of God Bible Commentary, edited by Scot McKnight and published by Zondervan. In addition, readers might enjoy visiting the author's Blog titled A Genuine Faith.

Why do I enjoy teaching at SBU? "College is where I learned to think about the big questions: Who is God? What do I believe? What do I have to give? Therefore, I enjoy trying to give what I have received from my teachers (past and present): to inspire students to think through what they believe and learn what they should do. College students have a passion for life, a sincere desire to learn, and an insatiable appetite for God. Men and women called to minister the gospel of Jesus Christ want to serve the Church and work for His Kingdom. I’m grateful that I belong to a community of learners who want to try to help each other fulfill this noble purpose: to follow Jesus with all that we are."

Educational and Professional Background: Reeves is a graduate of SBU and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, in Ft. Worth, Texas. He also pursued additional doctoral studies at Oxford University, UK.

Reeves' professional experience includes teaching at Williams Baptist College, Walnut Ridge, Arkansas and as Senior Pastor of Central Baptist Church, Jonesboro, Arkansas.
