Current Research Projects
I am writing a book on the need for greater cooperation between Christians in urban areas. I enjoy research related to theology, missions and world religions.

Why do you enjoy teaching at SBU?
I enjoy sharing with students about what the Lord has taught me through His Word and years of experience in ministry, both in the U.S. and Japan. I hope that I can challenge them to grow spiritually and to prepare to minister wherever God leads them in the world.

Faith Dedications
Missionary in Japan with the International Mission Board, Southern Baptist Convention from 1992 until 2007. Dr. Malone and his family are members of First Baptist Church of Bolivar. He frequently speaks on missions and does supply preaching at local churches.

Educational Background
B. A. in Sociology from Baylor University; M.Div. and Ph.D. in Theology and Missions from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary; Further Study at Beeson Divinity School, Samford University, and Brite Divinity School, Texas Christian University.

Who is playing on your iPod? I don't have an iPod--I'm so out of date!

What is the best getaway location, local or abroad? I like Hawaii, Chiang Mai, Thailand and Karuizawa (a ski resort community in Japan).
