Miranda Schreck
Resident Director of Leslie Hall

Hello!!! My name is Miranda Schreck, and I am the Resident Director of Leslie Hall. Here is a little blurb about who I am. I completed my undergraduate studies at SBU, where I earned a degree in Sociology and Intercultural Studies. After graduation I worked in the field of Social Work for five years. During this time I had the opportunity to work with several generations and populations. I took great pleasure in my time as a social worker, however, my current position is undoubtedly the most exciting and enjoyable work I have done.
I am an adventurist at heart. I also might have made that word up, but that’s kind of what adventurists are all about. Right? I love the outdoors, because the experience of a beautiful landscape allows me to see the Lord through his creation in a way that calms my soul. Additionally, I enjoy experiencing other cultures, and I am clinging to the hope that one day every tribe, tongue, and nation will bow before the King of Glory.
I take great joy in my work as a Resident Director, and I am amazed that I have been given the opportunity to live with and serve such amazing women. Every day I see the beauty of our God through the eyes of the young women who live in this dorm. I am reminded that he has created each person uniquely and with a purpose. As the diversity within Leslie Hall reminds me of the creative nature of God, I also remember that each person was created in the image of God. In Him we find our unity. To find harmony that is derived from Christ is my understanding of a successful life lived within a Christian community. This hope of unity is what draws me to living with the residents of Leslie Hall.
