|Card Access Services|
Each Residence Hall and various apartment units are equipped with an electronic card access system. This security system provides monitored access to the residence halls in order to ensure student safety. All residence halls and Casebolt Apartments have 24-hour security, Monday-Sunday. Residents must enter through the front door entrance and scan their student identification card. Please note that the side doors may be exited but are alarmed at midnight, Monday-Sunday. If your student ID card has been misplaced, please contact Safety and Security at 328-1556. Misplaced ID cards must be reissued through Safety and Security Department and the Office of Accounting.
|Cable Services [top]|
Cable TV access is currently available in all residence halls and apartment units. Students must have a TV that is cable ready or a cable box to connect with the cable TV service. Movie and premium channels, including HBO, are not available. A single cable TV connection serves each room in the residence hall. A cable fee is charged for services.
|Computer Services [top]|
Internet access is available in all residence halls and various apartment units. Each room in the residence halls has at least two network connections allowing each student to have their own individual connection. Each room is network ready but the student will have to have Ethernet cable (network cable) in order to make the connection from their computer to the network. The network connection allows high-speed access to e-mail and the Internet. Recommended network cables are available in the campus bookstore. The Roseman Apartments and Craig house have internet access via a wireless network.
We have added a wireless hotspot to each dorm's main lounge and each hallway. This will provide students with a wireless connection to the internet.
|Custodial Services [top]|
The residence life custodial staff is committed to providing clean and maintained residence hall facilities. The staff cleans all public restrooms, public areas, and residence hall community restrooms on a regular basis. It is the responsibility of the student to clean their own rooms, apartments, or the residence hall suite bathrooms where applicable.
Specific residence halls are accessible for students with physical disabilities living in the residence halls. For special needs or accommodation, please contact the Office of Student Life at 328-1885.
|Laundry Facilities [top]|
Each residence hall is equipped with a laundry room. Apartment housing is also equipped with laundry facilities and/or washer/dryer units in each apartment. All facilities are money card operated with the exception of apartment units. The money cards accept $5, $10, and $20 bills. It does not accept $1 bills or coins.
Adequate parking is provided at each residence hall and/or apartments. Students must register their vehicle and obtain a parking sticker through the Department of Safety and Security.
|May I have a Private Room? [top]|
All private rooms are assigned based upon availability in each residence hall. Students may request a private room on their housing application. An additional private room charge for a private room will be assessed accordingly. Residence Life cannot guarantee that a private
|Residence Life Leadership Programs [top]|
A $15 residence hall activity fee is assessed for anyone who lives in the residence halls. Those in the residence halls automatically benefits from the fee. Many activities and educational programs are planned throughout the semester by the residence hall staff. Students may also get involved in leadership opportunities through dorm council, residence hall activities, community service projects, multicultural services program, Bible studies and/or becoming a Resident Assistant in the residence hall.
|Student Lounge Areas [top]|
Each residence hall and various apartment units have lounge and/or study areas equipped with lounge furniture and other recreational equipment. These areas are great for study groups, recreation, and places to meet other residents.
|Supplies Available [top]|
Each residence hall office supplies basic cleaning equipment that students may checkout at no cost. Students may checkout vacuums, mops, brooms, dustpans, etc. Toiletry items such as toilet paper are provided for students and are available in the residence hall office.
|Telephone Services [top]|
The university provides local telephone services to each residence hall and apartment unit. A fee is included for local telephone service. The university does not provide long distance phone service. Therefore, students must purchase calling cards or a cell phone for long distance purposes. Purple touch-tone phones are provided in each residence hall room and apartment. Students may bring their own personal phone if they prefer. Students may contact the Office of Residence Life at 328-1826 and/or the Resident Director to obtain their local phone number.
Students may set up their voicemail box for the first time by dialing 30#. The voice mail tutorial will walk the student through the system. Students will have the opportunity to enter their personal greeting, name, and private pass code. To reset the voicemail, please contact our office.
