Work Out Program
What is WORK OUT?
Work out is a program designed to help encourage students and members work out and get in shape.
How does it work?
This program enables students and members to obtain points by working out. A point can be earned by working out in the Wellness Center for 30 minutes on that particular day. A maximum of one point can be earned per day. One qualifies for points by working out in the weight room, in a class in the aerobics room, in the pool, on the running track, on the rock climbing wall, or playing racquetball.
Can I do two different activities a day to earn points?
Yes, you can combine two activities that last the duration of 30 minutes, but only one point can be earned.
What's in it for me?
First, you will get in burn calories and fat and build muscle strength. Studies have shown that this can help reduce the risk of heart disease, hypertension, cut stress, and reduce aging. There is also an incentive program in place. After each month the top standing student, faculty/staff member, and community member will be put on the Wellness Center Wall of Fame. They will see their names posted for recognition as well as receiving a certificate to commemorate the honor.
So I'll be counted no matter what?
No, you won't be counted unless you go to the desk and initiate the process. The Wellness Center employee won't do it for you.
